As we move forward, we would also recommend that all members use the Grassroots Game App, which will have all the playing rules and formats included. We are continuing to move forward with the COVID Return to Football guidance, which is now allowing more football activity to take place. At this time, we would encourage all members to continue to check the Scottish FA ‘Return to Football Hub’ for all the updated information to ensure that everyone is safe and adhering to current protocols.
With the limited amount of activity that has taken place over the last year, it very important that we make sure the return to match play is carried out in a supportive and controlled way to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of every child. The physical literacy and fitness levels of some players might have reduced due to the impact of lockdown and it is important that we look after all players as they come back into a formal match play setting. Clubs should aim to be as flexible as possible on their return, and we would suggest that teams continue to play in small sided games for a long as possible to allow players to reintroduce themselves with the sport and encourage as much activity as possible.
