Guidance Update

22/08/2020

New guidance was received yesterday from the SYFA.  The most significant changes (and the ones that will please most coaches) group sizes have increased, we can now offer training more than once per week and adults are also permitted to have contact training.  Kids and adults who are training do not have to keep 2m apart, but all coaches and officials do.

Other changes - All teams are required to have a COVID officer and First aid advice has been amended.

For this week W/C 23/08/20:

We are meeting with the facility owner on Monday to discuss how the pitch will be manageable for both kids and adults training on an ongoing basis.  We will carry out the required risk assessments on the use of the facility before new user’s train.

As it stands for this week, we will still be the only club using the facility.

All teams have been advised of a proposed time slot for 2 nights training and I am waiting on a few confirming prior to sending out sessions on MCH.

We need you to confirm you are either coming or not to the training sessions so we can manage the space and the coaches can prepare.

Training will be staggered with Astro training starting on the hour and grass training starting on the half hour.

There will be double the amount of kids/coaches within the facility and double the number of adults/cars outside.  I would remind you of the parking restrictions.  Please do not park in the first car park.  (This includes coaches) There is plenty of space in the bottom car park and on the road in front of the stadium.  This is for the safety of the kids not having to manoeuvre between cars and allows us to have enough room to segregate groups.

Training sessions will be restricted to 50 mins.  This gives us time to allow the first group to leave, wipe down all the equipment before the next groups enters.

As we now have training on the grass – coaches will not be allowed inside the gate until previous groups have left.  Under no circumstances should coaches be entering the grounds whilst other groups are training. (the Astro is in use every evening prior to 6pm training)

There are still no spectators allowed within the facility.  Parents are reminded that 2m distancing rule is in place.  Other than the groups training, there will be minimum additional officials within the grounds to manage the facility, assist with cleaning equipment and ensuring that we are managing the toilet facilities.  If these officials must deal with an incident within a group, they will be asked to leave with that group.

To manage the groups and the registers effectively, please do not arrive for training early.  Please stay within your car or at the top of the car park with your child until you see that your coach is ready to accept your player in a designated area.  Parents as much as possible should not congregate around the entrance to the facility.

There will be more information regarding training times, which will come via MCH and your age reps will keep you updated.

There is lots of guidance/rules to follow and we appreciate that things are changing frequently.  Please help us to follow the guidelines as much as possible.

If your child is unwell do not bring them to training.  If someone within your household develops symptoms contact NHS to arrange to be tested.

By helping us follow the guidelines allows us to carry on training.
