CHARITY MATCH SATURDAY 21ST MARCH

09/03/2020

East Fife and FFTC Support Kaylan

Martin Hampson contacted us in early February with plans to stage a charity football match on Saturday 21st March which was ideal as East Fife are away from home that day.

Martin’s son Kaylan has been diagnosed with blood cancer leading to leukemia and was immediately admitted to The Sick Kids in Edinburgh and for the past five weeks Martin has been staying at the hospital with Kaylan and its only now he has been able to start again organising the game he had planned.

Martin couldn’t speak highly enough of the care given to Kaylan by the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sick Kids and felt that this charity event was the least he could do to say thank you.

Although Kaylan is out of hospital he still needs to attend the Sick Kids regularly for chemotherapy treatment as the start of a three year journey.

Martin has others to thank. His girlfriend Ashleigh Williams and her five year old daughter Ilyah have been magnificent in their love and support for Kaylan and are doing a charity walk over the Forth Bridge on Sunday 15th March.  with work colleagues and family.

Kaylan’s mum is Chelsey Mathieson and Martin said she had been hit hard by the news as she and Kaylan “love each other to bits.” Chelsey is now organising her own charity events in support of her brave wee boy and the hospital staff. Last but not least are the families and friends who Martin said had supported them 100% over the last couple of months.

Martin organised the charity match through a difficult period but has put together two teams of friends and Army mates as Martin himself is in the Army football team. He is also trying to arrange face painting and stalls for the kids

It would be great if fans and friends of East Fife could come along on Saturday 21st at Bayview for a 1.00 K.O.  Any donations to the charity fund can also be handed in to the office at Bayview.
