Building on the Scottish FA guidance for under 12s activity during lockdown, please see below further clarification:
“During this current period of lockdown, now more than ever, it is vitally important that all clubs consider what level of activity they can safely offer to their players. At every stage of the coronavirus pandemic the Scottish FA has encouraged clubs across the country to assess and reflect what the most appropriate activity is, relating to their own players and community.
While the Scottish Government and sportscotland have granted exemption for non-contact training for under-12 age groups, each club needs to carefully consider their own circumstances and make decisions following their own risk assessments. The Government’s critical stay at home guidance should be considered at all times.
We appreciate that this means it is highly unlikely that group activity will be possible due to a number of factors; including facility access, travel and lockdown restrictions.
Clubs should only consider delivering activities if this is a players’ sole opportunity to participate in physical exercise or if you deem the activity vital for the young person and the wider community.
We understand the impact of football during these difficult times and we continue to encourage clubs, teams and coaches to remain in contact and promote practice and activity to take place at home through the use of technology.
