Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year

18/12/2020

Tonight, was our last training session of 2020.

It has been a tough footie year, most of us are as back to normal as it is going to be for a while.  Hopefully, our older boys and adults will be able to get back to some proper footie in the New year.

Although we had a rough start to the year, the second half has shown what we can do as a big Football community.  Everyone has pulled together to make sure that all our players have had the best opportunity to play.

We have cleaned more than Mrs Hinch and had more bubbles than Fairy liquid.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who have worked hard to make training as normal as possible and gone the extra mile to ensure that as much footie as possible has been played.  The extra work that is going on behind the scenes by everyone is very much appreciated.

Thank you to our imaginative Community team who have Zoomed, trained, and reorganised classes to ensure that we can continue to support the community within the guidelines.

Thank you to all our parents who continued to support us through the closed period and have shown understanding about the restrictions in place for watching.

Most of all thank you to all our players, who have kept us all smiling through all the hard work with their cheeky smiles, toilet trips and teenage mumbles.

We have lost some players and seen old and new players returning.  We have welcomed what feels like 100 new little feet with our 2015’s and 2016s.  Our community programs were going strong and I am sure will do again when the restrictions are lifted.  We have more members at the club now than we have ever had, soon be needing another Astro.

Training may have finished but we have a few little things to finish up before the end of the year, there a few matches to be played this weekend, our deliveries of Festive Friends hampers to the elderly are being distributed on Wednesday and our player registrations for the new season will be completed and then we can all put our feet up for a well-earned holiday.

The Committee would like to wish everyone a VERY MERRY XMAS and are keeping our fingers crossed that we can all come back on the Monday 4th January.
