GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL UPDATE

Scottish Football’s Joint Response Group announced last month the creation of a number of sub groups to investigate what steps need to be taken to restart football in Scotland.

The Scottish FA Grassroots Sub Group has worked with internal and external stakeholders, including the Scottish Government to plan for the restart of football when safety measures allow.

All football in Scotland remains suspended until at least 10 June. When football does resume, additional measures will need to be put in place so the grassroots sub group is working to ensure that football is ready to return when government guidelines permit.

The Grassroots Sub Group is putting together a framework to help support the re-introduction of community grassroots football and training.

While that work is being carried out, a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ document has been created to answer ongoing questions and queries regarding grassroots football.

Scottish FA’s Head of Football Development Andy Gould has also conducted a Q&A as he gives a state of play update with regards to grassroots football in Scotland.
